Privacy policy

This policy describes how the Chonky Essentials watch face uses data, including its optional Google Calendar connection.

Google Calendar data

When you authorize Google Calendar, the watch face requests read-only calendar access. It reads upcoming events from your primary calendar and any additional calendar IDs you configure. It uses event titles, start and end times to select and display your next timed event. It does not modify your calendars.

Storage and retention

The watch stores Google access and refresh tokens to maintain your authorized connection, temporary device-authorization details during sign-in, calendar identifiers you configure, and a cached next-event title and start time. Cached event details are replaced or cleared as calendar synchronization runs. Tokens remain stored while the connection is valid.

Other watch information

The watch face displays the time, date, Garmin weather information, activity metrics and device status supplied by Garmin. Chonky Essentials does not send those readings to a developer-operated server.

How data is shared

Requests to Google are handled through Garmin’s communications facilities and your phone connection. Google and Garmin process data under their own policies. Chonky Essentials does not operate a separate backend that receives calendar data, does not sell calendar data, and does not use Google data for advertising or AI-model training.

Chonky Essentials’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Your choices and deletion

Google Calendar is optional. Select the Garmin calendar source to stop Google synchronization. You can revoke the watch face’s authorization from your Google Account connections. Revoking access stops future authorized Google requests; it does not itself erase data already cached on the watch. Remove the watch face and its saved data through Garmin’s normal app-removal process to delete locally stored information.
